Use multimc to launch minecraft with forge 39.0.5, without a connection in offline mode Steps to hopefullly somewhat reliably reproduce:
I'm guessing forge just doesn't have a check for offline mode and so requests MOJMAPS and other network reliant data without a failstate.Īny suggestions on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated, otherwise hopefully this will be a useful bug report. When launching in offline mode with a connection (enable connection after the launcher goes into offline mode) it works fine.
When my connection is disabled after launching, nothing happens. Then it times out with a network error which does not happen with vanilla. When I run it with forge and a bad connection (on cellular) it hangs at DOWNLOAD_MOJMAPS despite being in offline mode.
When I run it with no mods enabled, it still shows the same error. When I run the game with forge disabled in multimc, it loads up with no issues. When I turn that connection off I get either When I launch with an internet connection it goes through just fine in online mode.
I have internet issues, particularly that I need to unplug my ethernet to prevent lightning surges destroying all my network cards and router. But it doesn't seem to be just a rendering problem, because the constructor of my own villager class isn't even called.ĭoes anyone here have experience with villagers in the new version? Is my behavior approach generally good or would another variant be much easier and better? If the approach is good, how to get the additional behavior into the villager? When I try to replace the entity type there is no error but also no villager shows up at all. Here I can't figure out how to do it properly in Minecraft 1.18. Or replacing the villager class by an own class extending Villager. I mainly see two possibilities: Intercepting every call to this method and replacing it by a copy including the additional behavior (but I can't find suitable Forge events). There, an additional behavior could be added which mostly adopts the LookAndFollowTradingPlayerSink class.īut I can't find a way to add this behavior to the activity. I think the safest way to go would be to extend the villager CORE activity added in the Villager.registerBrainGoals method.
I am still trying to figure out vast parts of the Minecraft code of the new version. During these talks the villager shall follow the player with head and body exactly like during trading. Currently it shall be possible to talk to them via a simple GUI with choosable options like in other games. I am trying to extend the vanilla villager behavior.
